Ocean Frontiers offers a variety of exceptional Stingray City Sandbar tours in Grand Cayman, catering to both early risers, those seeking a more relaxed afternoon or evening outings, or those that just want a well-rounded, exciting experience with breathtaking photo opportunities. Our goal is to give you the opportunity to experience Stingray City in the most special way possible, and these trips are how we accomplish that.
"It's one of those ones, particularly among, here on the East End where I think there's this conception and that it's just a tourist trap. I think the way Ocean Frontiers does it is a really good compromise because it is a really unique experience."
— Captain James Snelgrove
"We run four different types of trips on different days of the week.. but we have a dawn trip, which leaves at 6:45 AM, which is great because there's not going to be a lot of other boats on the sandbar. It's early, but you will be the only one, if not one of two or three boats out there. "
— Dive Instructor Trevor Davgin
For those who want the ultimate Stingray experience, this is it. Over 69 minutes on the Sandbar, no crowds, other boats, and other distractions, but lots and lots of Stingrays. This trip is the favorite of the professional film crews of BBC, Nat Geo, Discovery, who utilize Ocean Frontiers for their operations for their nature documentary filming.
A favorite of both guests and staff alike, you might call this the most picturesque possible setting to see and interact with these wild stingrays.
Wednesdays & Fridays | Check-In Kaibo 06:45AM**
"You can extend the trip with another trip we called Reef and Rays, whereby you'll still visit the sandbar. Still spend the same amount of time there. But then all along the inside of the barrier reef that comes along the top of North Sound, it's really good snorkeling. It's very shallow. Coral heads come right up to the surface. So we'll take you to a spot along there, ideally away from all the other boats, and give you a chance to have a little snorkel around."
— Operations Manager Andy Wilson
The best of both in one boat trip. Visit the amazing Stingrays in waist deep water at the Sandbar on one-stop and then make a 2nd stop to explore the vibrant and untouched coral reefs of Rum Point.
9:30AM | Every Morning - Monday to Friday | Check-In Kaibo
1:30PM | Mon, Wed, Fri | Check-In Kaibo
"I really like the champagne trip where you go and see the stingrays late afternoon and then just have a nice glass of champagne on the way back in. depending on the time of year, the sun setting." - Andy Wilson
Champagne Stingrays: The 'After-Party'... but with Stingrays. Enjoy a more relaxed and intimate Stingray encounter in the late afternoon golden sun, after the crowds have departed... Ideally, giving you easy access to the wild stingrays without any other boats, noise, to take away away from your experience. And as the name suggests, the twist on this trip is the relaxing sunset cruise on the return back to Kaibo, where you can choose to be served a glass of champage whilst strolling through the peaceful mangrove forest - adding yet another marine environment to experience and learn about.
Tuesday & Thursday | 4:00PM Check-In Kaibo
