Canada, Australia, China, Jordan, Indonesia, Thailand, Nicaragua, Sri Lanka, and Maldives (not all in diving!).

Pipehorses and nudibranchs: anything tiny and weird looking.

Tarpon Terrace: loads of interesting creatures there!

• What do you love most about the East End?

Riding the 'East End Loop' on my bike.

I published a book about travelling by bicycle. But if you really want a random fact: I received the severed tip of my finger in a gratuities envelope as a 'tip.' Also, I was once held for ransom by Mongolians in Tibet.

The ability to eat spicy food: I once won a hot-pepper-eating contest.
