Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?

After enrolling, PADI's eLearning system presents you with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics, and reading. Short quizzes let you gauge your progress, and review and correct anything you might happen to miss. This lets you move through the program efficiently and at your own pace.

How long do you have to complete the eLearning course?

You need to complete the first training dive within one year of completing the PADI Advanced eLearning course. However, once you gain access to the eLearning and complete a knowledge review quiz, you will always have lifetime access to the content.

When would I need the additional private instruction session?

If you're unable to successfully complete any course component after your first attempt, a second attempt would require scheduling an additional private instruction session. This personalized instruction provides the focused attention you need to meet certification requirements.

What are the skills covered in the Rescue Diver Adventure dive?

The Rescue Diver adventure dive will cover self-rescue skills, assisting a tired diver at the surface, rescuing a panicked diver at the surface and searching for a missing diver with the use of an underwater search pattern.

What is the difference between the Single Student and Group rates?

Our Group Rate (2+ students) offers a discounted price when multiple people book the same course together on a single reservation. The Single Student Rate applies when only one person books the course. Please note that the Single Rate does not equate to a private lesson - you may still be grouped with other students. The Group Rate is our way of rewarding those who bring friends or family to learn together.

How do you document that you've completed the eLearning segment?

Once you finish the eLearning portion of the course, the Ocean Frontiers Dive Center is notified that you have completed it and that you are ready for the practical phase of the program.

What considerations should a student take into account when choosing the Rescue Diver Adventure Dive?

Due to the nature of the skills required at the surface, the time spent diving underwater may be considerably less than other adventure dives.
