What is the difference between a Resort course and a Discover Scuba experience?

The terms are interchangeable and refer to the same thing. We are a PADI 5 Star Dive Centre that offers PADI courses like the Discover Scuba Diving experience. Other scuba training organisations may offer the same experience by a slightly different name.

Do I need to repeat the pool session when doing the Repeat Resort dive trips?

Repeat Resort Dives do not require you to repeat the classroom or pool training session, but do require you to be directly supervised by a Dive Instructor or Divemaster while Scuba Diving to a maximum depth of 40 feet.

How do I get started with PADI eLearning?

Once you have booked and paid for your PADI experience with us, we will send you the primary booker an email with access to the eLearning. This needs to be shared with everyone that is participating in the Discover Scuba experience with you. The link in the email will redirect you to PADI's website where you will need to create a PADI account and sign the course paperwork. Each participant needs to have their own PADI account and course paperwork. Minors will need a parental guardian present to sign on their behalf.

How long do you have to complete the eLearning course?

You have lifetime access to the eLearning content, however the quizzes should only be completed within 7 days of your Discover Scuba experience with us as we need the information fresh in your memory to make for a smooth course experience.

How do you document that you've completed the eLearning segment?

Once you finish the eLearning portion of the course, the Ocean Frontiers Dive Center is notified that you have completed it and that you are ready for the practical phase of the program.

I got a Yes on the Diver Medical Questionnaire. What does that mean?

Once you sign all the course paperwork online, PADI should contact you via email to inform you of the need to get a doctor's medical evaluation prior to doing any inwater activities with us. A "yes" does not rule you out from scuba diving, but just means that it requires further evaluation from a medical professional. Download the signed diver medical that PADI will send you via email and take it with you to your doctor. Bring the approved documents with you to give to your instructor.

What is the difference between the PADI Scuba Diver and PADI Open Water Diver certifications?

A PADI Scuba Diver certification takes half the time to complete requiring only 2 ocean dives. The certification enables you to dive anywhere in the world up to a depth of 40 feet with the direct supervision of a scuba diving professional. The PADI Open Water Diver course requires more theory, pool training and 4 ocean dives. This will give you the ability to dive deeper to 60 feet without the need of supervising professional.
