Junior Certification Classes (ages 10-14)
Young people can take many of the PADI diver scuba certification courses:
- Junior Open Water Divers, ages 10-11 years old (must dive with a PADI Professional or certified parent/guardian. Dives must not exceed 12 metres /40 feet).
- Junior Open Water Divers, ages 12-14 years old (must dive with a certified adult).
- Junior Advanced Open Water Diver, ages 12-14 years old.
- Junior Rescue Diver, ages 12-14 years old.
Junior Open Water Diver:
Young people aged 12-14 years old can sign up for our regular PADI Open Water Diver Certification class and must always dive with an adult until they reach the age of 15 years old. Junior scuba divers can complete the classroom work on line with PADI's eLearning and then complete the pool and Open Water training at Ocean Frontiers Dive School in the Cayman Islands.
Junior Open Water Class Cost (ages 12-14):
- Instruction Fees US$399 per person
- PADI eLearning Fees US$135 per person
*Junior Open Water Certifiactions for divers aged 10-11 years old will require a private class and instructor. Please contact us for a quote.
Junior Advanced/Adventure Open Water Diver:
Young divers can continue the adventure and build their skills by taking the Advanced Open Water Diver course with a few limitations. Junior Open Water Divers ages 12-14 years may complete three Adventure Dives to earn the Junior Adventure Diver rating or five Adventure Dives to earn the Junior Advanced Open Water rating. They must dive with a certified adult. Dives must not exceed 70 feet.
- Instruction Fees = US$99.00 (Surcharge to exisiting dives or dive package)
- PADI eLearning Fees = US$138.00 (Paid to PADI for online class)
Junior Open Water Divers ages 10-11 years must complete three adventure dives to become a Junior Adventure Diver. They must dive with a PADI Professional or certified parent/guardian. Dives must not exceed 12 metres/ 40 feet.
Junior Rescue Diver:
Young divers ages 12-14 rise to challenges and learn how to master them in the PADI Rescue Diver course. Upon completion, they become Junior Rescue Divers. They are still required to dive with a certified adult.
Just Turned Fifteen?
You can upgrade your scuba certification card so you’ll no longer have age-related restrictions while scuba diving.
Not quite old enough to get a diver certification yet? That doesn't mean you can't go DIVING!
Bubblemaker (ages 8+)
This is a good way for children to experience scuba diving in the pool in less than six feet of water. Celebrate a birthday by throwing a memorable, exciting Bubblemaker party with friends at Ocean Frontiers Dive School in the Cayman Islands.
Seal Team (ages 8+)
The PADI Seal Team is for young divers who are looking for action-packed fun in a pool by doing exciting scuba AquaMissions. Divers are introduced to underwater photography, navigation, environmental awareness and more.
Junior Master Scuba Diver (ages 12-14)
Young divers ages 12-14 can continue building experience and exploring unique diving environments on their way to the Master Scuba Diver Rating. They must dive with a certified adult.
Boy Scouts of America Scuba Diving merit badge
Achievement of the Scuba Diving merit badge will result in a PADI Open Water Diver Certification. This is a lifetime certification that is only the first step into an endless world of new experiences, adventure and fun.
