Nitrox Enriched Air Certification can be completed easily at the PADI Ocean Frontiers Dive School in the Cayman Islands.  We recommend that you complete the eLearning class online prior to arrival in the Cayman Islands. 

This is certification does not require any actual dives or dive trips. The practical portion of the class is to analyse a nitrox tank and complete the data sheet, which can be done on land, or on one of our dive boats if you already have a trip booked.   

Ocean Frontiers charges an admin fee of US$50.00 for Nitrox Certification for Nitrox Certification providing the eLearning class has been completed and the class is associated with Ocean Frontiers when you sign up for the online class with PADI.  Aa eLearning Access Pass fee of US$200 will be paid directly to PADI.

Transportation to and from your hotel to the departure point in East End is not included. You will need a rental car or taxi if you are not staying in the East End district.

  • Certified Junior Open Water Diver or higher
  • At least 12 years old
  • Complete a medical questionnaire

  • Nitrox Recommended if making more than 2 dives per day
  • Nitrox Required if making 4 or more dives per day

What does the class cover?
The PADI Enriched Air Diver course online includes all the knowledge development requirements for the course. You'll also have unlimited access to the PADI Enriched Air Diver manual online for reference after you have completed the course.

How does it work?
After enrolling, PADI's eLearning system presents you with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics and reading. Short quizzes let you gauge your progress, and review and correct anything you might happen to miss. This lets you move through the program efficiently and at your own pace.

What else is required to complete the course?
Prior to certification as a PADI Enriched Air Diver, you must complete a Quick Review, a Practical Application session and either two enriched air training dives or predive simulations, with a PADI Enriched Air Specialty Instructor. Contact the Ocean Frontiers PADI Dive Center to schedule these sessions.

What does it cost?
The PADI Enriched Air Diver course online is $200.00 (US) nonrefundable. The fee covers the knowledge development training as well as unlimited access to the PADI Enriched Air Diver manual online. Your PADI Dive Center or Resort will charge an additional fee for participation in the Practical Application session and enriched air training dives, or predive simulations. How long do you have to complete the eLearning course?
The eLearning course will be available for one year from the time of course registration. Though you must finish the online portion of the course within that time frame, you will have perpetual access to an online version of the PADI Enriched Air Diver manual.

What is the minimum amount of time it will take to complete this eLearning program?
The PADI Enriched Air Diver Course online will take approximately 3 hours to complete.

How do you document that you've completed the eLearning segment?
Once you finish the eLearning portion of the course, the Ocean Frontiers Dive Center is notified that you have completed it and that you are ready for the practical phase of the program. At the end of the eLearning program, you can print out your eRecord and bring a copy of it with you to show your PADI Instructor at Ocean Frontiers.
