The X-Dive: An Afternoon With

If you're looking for a uniquely thrilling diving experience in Grand Cayman, The X-Dive at Ocean Frontiers might be your best chance. A point-to-point dive covering 2 excellent sites in “The Corner” dive zone in the ‘sharkiest’ area of Grand Cayman, you won’t be able to forget this one-of-a-kind dive!

Key Highlights
  • Dive Point-to-Point through Pat's Wall & Jack McKenney's Canyons
  • No turning back, meaning maximum time on the wall to see large marine life
  • Potential to see 8 or more reef sharks on a single dive
  • Pre-dive mini-class on Shark Conservation included
  • High probability of spotting turtles, rays, and other marine life

What Makes The X-Dive Special?

One of the standout features of The X-Dive is that it offers maximum time on the top of the wall, giving divers the greatest opportunity to see the big stuff. The Caribbean Reef Sharks that inhabit the area are the focal point of the dive, with the potential to see 8 or more reef sharks on a single dive! The trip also includes a pre-dive mini-class on Shark Conservation. This guided dive starts at one location and wraps up at another, ensuring you get to explore as much of the wall area as possible without having to backtrack.

Unique Route: This dive is designed to let you cruise the edge of the drop-off to the cayman trench - bringing you the most epic topography combined with a higher probably of seeing big animals. No backtracking means you see twice as much!

Marine Life: With the highest probability of spotting marine life like turtles, rays, and sharks, you're in for a visual treat. An almost-certain sighting you’ll have is the Caribbean reef shark, who turn up in high numbers around this area.

"We've got, I believe at last count, seven Caribbean reef sharks that can always be relied upon to turn up in the same area 99% of the time. So the guys, especially Jon, have done a lot of work on identifying them and learning how to recognize the individuals." - Andy Wilson

Shark Conservation: Learn about shark conservation in a mini-class before your dive, and get to know the efforts to protect these incredible creatures in the Cayman Islands.

"We kind of put more conservation on it. So we'll do a nice presentation for you, explaining how the conservation works on the island, how the Cayman Islands protect them, and the people who are actually involved in the work in the Cayman Islands, like Johanna Kohler, who is the queen of the sharks. She did a PhD thesis on it"

Guided Experience: The dive is guided for navigational purposes, with the dive boat following your path and meeting you at the final location. This ensures a smooth and enjoyable experience.
